PlantStar - Privacy policy
As the administrators of the mobile computing application, PlantStar (“PlantStar Ltd.”, “PlantStar”,
”the app”, “we”, “us”, “our”) are committed to respecting your privacy.
This privacy policy sets out how we collect data from you, or data that you provide to us and how it
will be processed by us.
At PlantStar we want you to understand what data we collect about you and how we use and share
it, we therefore encourage you to read through our privacy policy.
For the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”, from the GDPR implementation
date) or, until GDPR implementation date, the Data Protection Act 1998, (collectively the “Data
Protection Laws”) the Data Controller is PlantStar Ltd.
YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect and process the following information from you during your use of PlantStar or whilst
providing our services:
information that you provide by filling in forms on the app. This includes information
provided at the time of registering to use the app (which may be directly through the app, or
through third party service providers, and in the case of the latter, we will obtain the
personal data you have provided to the third-party service provider), purchasing a
Subscription, posting material or requesting further information or services. We may also
ask you for information when you report a problem with the app.
if you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
from time to time we may ask you to complete surveys, which you are under no obligation
to complete or respond to.
details of transactions you carry out through the app and of the fulfilment of your orders.
details of your use of the app including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs
and other communication data, and the resources that you access, so we may compile
statistics relating to your use of the app.
USES MADE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We rely on your consent as the lawful basis:
where you have agreed to participate in a survey, and for the processing of personal
information that has been collected through that survey.
on which we send you newsletters and promotional materials which we feel may be of
interest to you, including those from our business partners, where you have registered on
the app and opted in to receive such newsletters and promotional materials.
We rely on “performance of a contract” as the lawful basis:
on which we collect and process your personal data to fulfil our contractual obligations when you
register and subscribe to our services, and/or contact us in relation to the services you have
subscribed to.
to make your profile and limited personal details searchable by other users for them to interact
with you, view your location and your profile description.
We rely on “legitimate interest” as the lawful basis on which we collect and process your personal
data to:
correspond with you to build a potential business relationship, including providing
you with materials and information we feel may be of interest to you, and to
respond to any enquiries you have made in relation to services we offer.
provide our services pursuant to an agreement with an organisation that has
engaged you.
PURPOSES OF PROCESSING
We use information held about you in the following ways:
to ensure that content from the app is presented in the most effective manner for you and
for your device.
to provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we
feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
to allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so.
to notify you about changes to our service.
In addition to the above uses we may use your information, or permit selected third parties to use
your information, to notify you about goods or services which may be of interest to you.
For such uses we will only contact you by electronic means (e-mail or SMS) if you have consented to
such communication when we collect your data OR if the contact relates to goods and services
similar to those which were the subject of a previous transaction with you.
If you do not want us to use your data in this way, please tick the relevant box situated on the form
on which we collect your data (the registration form to become a Registered User). If you do not
want us to pass your details on to third parties for marketing purposes, do not tick the relevant box
on the form on which we collect your data (the registration form to become a Registered User).
DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We routinely disclose your personal data to third parties as follows:
we may pass your information to our third-party service providers, agents, subcontractors
and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing
services to you on our behalf (e.g., to host our servers, prepare marketing correspondence,
process payments, provide customer support services).
where you register on the app to sign up and/or receive services from another service
provider and that service provider is registered with us, your e-mail address will be shared
with such service provider.
we may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our
subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of
the UK Companies Act 2006 (where applicable).
We may disclose your personal information to third parties:
if we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to
the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets; or
if we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal
data held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets; or
if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any
legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply the app Terms and Conditions and other
agreements; or
to protect the rights, property, or safety of the app, our users and any third party we
interact with to provide the app.
STORING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
Security:
We take measures to ensure that any personal data is kept secure and kept for the duration
of your use of our services.
We take all reasonable and necessary steps to protect your
personal data, however, we cannot guarantee the security of your data when transmitted to
the app; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information,
strict procedures and security features are in place to curtail unauthorised access.
The app will give you access to forums. You acknowledge and agree that any personal data
published by you using these features is at your sole discretion and is accessible by the
public.
The app may contain links to and from websites of our partner networks, advertisers and
affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have
their own privacy policies and terms of use and that we do not accept any responsibility or
liability for these policies and terms of use. Please check these policies before you submit
any personal data to these websites.
Keeping your personal data up to date:
If your personal details change you may update them by accessing the relevant page of the
app. If you have any questions about how we use data collected which relates to you, please
contact us by sending a request by email to the contact details below.
We will endeavour to update your personal data within twenty-eight (28) working days of
any new or updated personal data being provided to us, in order to ensure that the personal
data we hold about you is as accurate and up to date as possible.
How long we keep your personal data:
where you have paid for a subscription, we will hold all personal data we collect for as long
as you have an active account with us or continue to pay a subscription fee in order to
receive our services. We will hold your username, email address, city and country details for 90 days
from the end of your last subscription payment.
where you are a user of our ‘free’ services and have not accessed your account for a
continuous period of 36 months your account will be deemed inactive and we will retain
your personal data for 90 days from the date the account is deemed inactive.
where you have requested for your account to be closed, your personal data will be
retained for a period of 90 from the date you request your account be closed.
We may store other personal information that you have provided to us for as long as it is reasonable
when considering our need to provide you with the services you have signed up to, to resolve any
disputes, enforce our rights and/or respond to queries.

Where we store your personal data:
The data we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the
European Economic Area ("EEA"). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the
EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other
things, the fulfilment of your orders, the processing of your payment details and the
provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer,
storing or processing.
We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is held securely and in
accordance with this policy.

We hope that we can resolve any query or concern you have about our use of your information.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes we may make to our
Privacy Policy in the future will be notified and made available to you using the app. Your continued
use of the services and the app shall be deemed your acceptance of the varied Privacy Policy.
